The article was originally printed in 1923 in the Canadian Historical Review, under the title “Notes and Documents, A New Account of the Death of Wolfe”. It was also printed in 1928 in the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research, Vol. 7, No. 29 (July) 1928, pp. 175-184, under the title, “The Death of Major-General, James Wolfe, a Letter from Captain Samuel Jan Hollandt", with an Introduction and Notes by A.G. Doughty.

The article appearing in the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research, was not an exact reprint of what originally appeared in the Canadian Historical Review. The 1928 article included a revised introduction with added information and some format changes; as well “An authentic plan of the River St. Laurence…and the operation of the Siege of Quebec” (images on 2 pages) was added to the 1928 version.

Wilson Collection includes an off-print of the 1928 article from the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research; Wilson Collection copy was reviewed. Print copies of the 1923 article in the Canadian Historical Review, and the 1928 version in the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research held by Queen's University, were reviewed.  

Digital copies of the periodicals are available by subscription through Project Muse for the Canadian Historical Review, and through JSTOR for the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research.
