Tennyson, Alfred, Lord, In Memoriam, In Shorthand by Arthur G. Doughty by kind permission of Messrs. McMillan & Co., Montreal: Canada Bank Note Co., 1887.

Publishing In Memoriam in shorthand was Doughty's first attempt at transcribing great literature in this progressive form of communication. It was quickly followed by his more elaborate publication of The Idylls of the King. The importance of these two volumes in Doughty's quest for recognition is discussed in the entry for The Idylls of the King.
