In this article, Doughty provided the context in the introduction and the footnotes for the notes taken at the Quebec Conference held on October 10, 1864. The main body of the article consists of a typescript of these notes by A. A. (Andrew Archibald) Macdonald, one of the delegates from Prince Edward Island, on the proceedings of the conference. The original transcribed notes are found in the Sir John A Macdonald fonds held by LAC.
