This manuscript was illuminated and written by Arthur G. Doughty. There appears to be only one known copy, which is held at Brown University.
The featured poem was "The Rose and the Lily", whose title also appears on the spine of the volume held by Brown University. Included in the illuminated manuscript was also an illustration by F.S. Holiday. The poem, "The Rose and the Lily (written for music)" was also published in Nugae Canorae, Portland, Maine: Smith & Sale, 1897, p.30.
